September:
We had our first visitors to NWA (Northwest AR)! Robert and Tiffany Adams, My Dad, Mom, and sis Brooke also joined in on the weekend for the AL/AR game! (when we thought we were still #1)
We had a great time tailgating before the game before the big showdown! I got to show off my Bama scrubs at work on Monday which was a lot of fun being the newbie!
October:
The next weekend we drove to Tuscaloosa for the AL/FL game, which was a really fun home game to attend! (again, at this point we were still #1) My very sweet best of friends threw me a baby shower! We had a really great time before the game and then got to tailgate on the quad before the game got started!
A special thanks to my dear Hostesses: Tiffany, Ashley, Anne, Alison, Brooke, Katie and BJ
My Favorite Diaper cake ever! Tiff did a great job, and I know it was so hard to actually pay money for that ugly orange decor ;) Check out Tiff's blog post on the shower (http://robandtiff.blogspot.com/2010/10/celebrating-bryson.html)Then the next weekend we had more visitors! Matt's Parent's, one set of grandparents, one aunt, and his brother Daniel all came for a relaxing weekend! After all of our travels and visitors I think we pooped out our next free weekend!
At the end of October, Matt's brother and his wife, Bryan and Allison, came up to visit from Dallas! We had a great weekend and they got to see how kid filled our wonderful neighborhood is! We hosted a pumpkin carving for all the neighbors and the kids!
"Leave it to us to host a party with knives and kids" - Matt told me during the party. We always make fun of ourselves for not thinking with kids in the picture in everything! (ex: Ever since we got married and lived together, we keep a bowl of M&M's out at all times. The only time we regret doing so is when kids come over and cry b/c their parents say they can't have them and we have to hide them) We will learn very soon :)
If you notice the blue gloves on everyone, I had some left over from Matt's knee surgery a while back. They became a big hit and after the pumpkins were carved, the kids were blowing up the "hands" and were very entertained!
The next night was Halloween and we invited several friends over to help us pass out candy. I forgot to take a pic of our set up, but we had a fire pit, big screen TV with football on, and ordered pizza. I have no idea how many kids total came by, but it was for sure over 100. Matt and the boys rigged up a ghost to scare the kids. We put the candy bowl on the sidewalk where the kids would bend over and get candy, then Matt would use the levy to lower the ghost and scare them. We had many laughs that night and I dare say we had more fun than the kids!
November:
This was our last month of travel before little Bryson is born! A few weeks ago we took a trip to Charlotte, NC. This is the town where I moved after college and Matt wooed me back into his life ;) Some great friends also threw a sweet baby shower! I felt as though I picked right back up and we had not been gone for 2 years. It was so great to see everyone!
LOVED THE CAKE!! I also love how my Crimson Tide was a common theme, because I am hoping Bryson will see that AL > TN :)
My amazing hostesses: Shelby, Meredith, Carol, Kerry, Lauren and Amanda
We flew home on Sunday after visiting our old Church and some more friends in Charlotte. Thankfully I did not swell up or get any blood clots! I attribute my TED hose, better known as compression stockings, to keeping my legs ok :) I seriously felt like we still lived there seeing everyone and want to thank the Verlander's for being amazing hosts the whole weekend. Charlotte holds a very special place in my heart and would never mind living there again!
The following Wednesday we got in the car and headed home for Thanksgiving. We had an amazing time with both families and it never feels long enough. Matt got plenty of hunting in and I was able to go to the Auburn game. Even though we lost the game, it was great to be with friends and family. On that Saturday, my Childhood friend Lauren Kelly, her Mom Sandra Elliott, and Patty Ann Green all hosted a local shower with a Handy Manny theme. Everything was so cute! We are using tools as our theme in Bryson's room!
Thank you ladies for a wonderful shower!!!
As we were driving home, I told Matt that "going home" will never be the same again! We will be coming as a family of 3 the next time we visit! Sorry for the long post!
